Scrapbook Sunday - Basic Scrapbooking Episode 5

Hi Everyone,
I can't believe its Sunday already!
Here our next video on Basic Scrapbooking. This is Episode 5 and its about Color.

Watch the video and then leave us a commet and tell us what your favorite Color combo is or what you tend to use most.
I said in the video that mine is Pink! (maybe its because I have two little girls!!!)

Here are a few tips to remember when putting together pages.

1. HAVE FUN this is the most important thing you can remember. Scrapbooking is about you preserving your memories of yesterday for friends and family tomorrow. Don't worry so much about "how to".

2. Solid Paper is the best tool you have. Use it to brake up the patterned paper and give the eyes a chance to rest in between those beautiful patterned pieces we all loving useing so much.

3. This is a video on a few things you can pick up to inspire you to use color on those pages.

Thanks for watching today - I hope you are enjoying some scrapbooking time!

Our first Military Family Package - RECEIVED! YAY

Hi Everyone,
As most of you know Tina and I decided to adopt a military family to send stuff too.  My friend Sheila's husband is in Iraq.  Every month one of us sends something to Sean in Irag and the other one sends something to the family.   October was my turn to send the family something.  I sent them the apple box featured in our blog earlier in October and a few other goodies.  Please check out their photos and you can learn more about Sheila and Sean's family at

Carly, Colton and Stetson are there three little ones and they are just too cute for words.  So glad you enjoyed your apples and making them Sheila.  We love you all and are praying for you and Seans safety!

Until tomorrow everyone,
Wendy & Tina

More Calendar Pages

Hi Everyone,
Wendy posted a little while back some Calendar pages that she had done. These Calendars she has been doing for a few years now and she does about 3 of them. She has been working on hers all year. I'm only doing 2 Calendars for Christmas gifts and I just started mine. I'm getting started a little late, yes I know this. I guess I work better under pressure! LOL

Here are a few of my pages so far!

This is the January page. I used Winter Woodland on this page! I love love love Winter Woodland. I thought when it came out that it was stupid and I wouldn't want it. But I have found that I love it. Its my favorite winte/christmas cartridge.  (Wendy had it and I was loving the way some of her layouts came out... HEE HEE THIS is Wendy and I just added this note because I do the editing..LOL)

This is my March Page and I used Create A Critter for the frog, and Designer Calendar for the clovers.

Here is April and May ... May is not done yet.
April I used A Childs Year for.

So there they are! I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the stuff that I've been working on.

Scrapbook Sunday - Basic Scrapbooking Episode 3&4

Hi Everyone
Here we are again at the end of another week! Well I consider Sunday the end of the week. I'm the type of person who like to start my weeks on Monday! Ha ha

I have two video's for everyone today! Yea (They are backwards - Episode 4 is at the top, and Episode 3 is at the bottom)
The first one  is just a video about basic tools. You can see our Basic Scrapbook Page HERE I'm going to leave the list up of these items in case you want to look back at it.

The second video is a page I put together regarding journaling. ( I was having major problems editing this video... so the end didn't get edited. Sorry guys. It is what it is!)

This is about journaling and don't forget to check out Wendy's Video she did on Friday, You can see it here : Little Hands Make Great Turkeys  It also has some great tips for jounaling.

Thanks everyone for stopping by and I hope you enjoy your Sunday Afternoon,

Here is a few pictures of the finished product!

Little Hands make GREAT Turkeys!

WOO HOO IT'S FRIDAY!  YAY!  We made it through another week people.  Today is FRIDAY!  Let your hair down, have a glass of wine and relax.

On Monday I was sitting around with my little girl thinking trying to think of new ways to journal.  I looked at her and then thought ... OMG how cute would it be to journal in her hand.  So I traced her hand and then did a layout of her finger painting and journaled in it!

Well you know how often times one idea leads to another.  That's what happened.  For the calendars that I do every year I thought it would be super cute to use my daughters hands as TURKEY FEATHERS!  YAY... Ok so this isn't my idea, of course pre school teachers have been doing this for something like 10000 years but it was MY IDEA to put it on a calendar for the grandparents to enjoy a cut out of her cute little hand.

Happy Friday everyone!

Calendar Pages

Hi Everyone,
This is Wendy (for a change)... I am going to start making an effort to post more often.  Tina needs some R&R from posting daily and I've just been in the habit of sending her everything to post.  So she suggested I just do the posts for some of the days.
Here I go!  On Sunday I got to scrapbook with my friend Laura.  We had a great time.  I got to finish up a few things and get my hands dirty with a few new layouts and calendar pages.

Every year I give my Mom, my Gramma, and my Mother in Law a calendar.  I use photos that have been taken throughout the year.  So here's my latest on the calendars:

This is for my Gramma's calendar.  The cute squirrel is cut from Give a Hoot cartridge.  I am also going to cut some leaves and a bird to go on this!  I love the colors

This is my mother in laws August page.  It's also a sketch that Tina and I did!  This will be featured in another post as well.  The paper is from a paperpack that I found at Ross.

I love love love this paper.  I've had it for YEARS!  Finally using it.  This is my Mom's September page.  The paper really reminds me of her style.

Here are some layouts that I've been working on.  This is the stuff I did this weekend when Laura came to visit.  I will be asking Laura to take some photos of her stuff also to do a post with her goodies!

This is a layout that I did for my Daughters second birthday.  I am really disappointed in it.  You know when you have an idea in your head and want it to come together and be perfect, well that was what this started as and you can see did not end up as! LOL.. If you have any suggestions for me on this layout and how to improve it PLEASE let me know.

This layout is also for Daughters second birthday.  We got her a puppy.  This layout is NOT finished.  I need to add " I AM" above the dog and teh number 2.  I am also going to add some balloons and stuff.

Well everyone that is it for me! I am planning on doing a lot of scrapping this week.  The weather has finally turned cool and rainy here in California and I am ready for some serious scrapping afternoons while my Daughter naps.

Talk to you all soon!

Violet's 1st Year Scrapbooking Project

Hi Everyone,

Life is always changing ... You know your household is always changing, growing! Your either adding to your family, or they are moving away. Your decorating, painting and adding a chair here, changing the placemats over there.
That is much like scrapbooking. We start out one way and then there is a new trend, you find a new company you love (Creative Memories, Stampin Up).

And so is the story of our blog! Wendy and I started this blog months ago and it has grown! It was really a lot of nothing in the beginning. We have added backgrounds, pictures and recently Video's.
We love doing this and now we have been talking about how to bring both of our personalities into this thing! Watch for future postings,  things will be a little different.

Also Wendy has started a "Fitness Journey" Blog and you can visit her here: All Before I'm 30

She has been working hard and I'm proud of her! And I've added his link to the side of our page for everyone to find later. Go over and say hi and follow her through this journey.

A few weeks back I shared with everyone how I had started redoing my daughters first year album. I've been working on it now for weeks and I have been really inspired to do some of these Layouts.

 So here they are:

This page I just added the Pricesses and journaling to.

This was a sketch Wendy and I did.

This April page was a redo, it just a page I added. Its so cute! I love it.

This page will be feature in a upcoming Video so stay tune for details on this one.

This May page is again not a redo but one I added. I love the way it came out. I was even able to add a picture of myself with my mom! It shows how much Violet looks like me.

Sunny Days, chasing the clouds away.... I love this page!

This is one of my favorites as well.... I embossed the vellum at the bottom of the page with my snowflakes folder!

I'm loving working on her album. Her album is coming out so cute and I can't believe I ever attempted to do it with only half of heart invested!
Now her album is all the way done up until July! That is awesome.

Thanks for looking guys and I would love hear your thoughts on how "caught up" you are on your albums this year!

Fall Diaper Shower Goodies!

Hi Everyone,
Well it's been a crazy busy couple of weeks.  I've been swamped with painting my house, throwing a shower, helping my Grandparents, and my cousin dropped in from North Dakota for a surprise visit! YAY!

I wanted to post photos of the stuff I made for the shower.  Here is the diaper cakes.  I made a big one then had some diapers left so I made a little one.  I decorated them with fake flowers in fall colors... I think they turned out beautiful:

This is the sign I made for the shower.  I used Storybook cartridge to cut the layers.

Here's the sign I made for the favors.  The sign is cut from Storybook.  I found these favor boxes at the Dollar Store and then I cut out the scalloped circles and stamped Thank You with the leaf on them.

So that's it folks!!!!  I had a great time doing the shower but I am glad it's over.  I stress over this stuff so much, because I want it to be really nice.  My sis in law enjoyed it a lot.

Thanks for checking it out!

How long does one page take you....

Hi Everyone,
As many of you know I attended my first ever crop a few weeks back. Yes hard to believe that I had never been to one.
For the most part it was amazing. I had a great time meeting people and getting to know some other scrapbookers in my area.

There was this one moment though that really got me thinking. This woman that I just met glared over at my page as I was working on a paperdoll and said to me "How long is that page going to take you? Is that the only thing you will be working on tonight."

I've never been big on just put picutres down and getting it over with.
I love to scrapbook and there have been pages that have taken me longer than 5 hours to complete. There are pages that I have left over night so that I could think about them because I wanted them to come out perfect and then there are those pages that have just fallen together in no time at all. I'm in and out of there in an hour.
Don't get me wrong those pages are nice, and days like that I for sure get more done than others, but it doesn't at all upset me to spend hours upon hours on the same layout.

So here is my question to everyone ... how long does it really take you to do a Layout? Is that good or bad? Do you wish you spend less time or more time on a Layout?
 Let us know!

Have a great day,

Scrapbooking Pages from Wendy

Hi Everyone,
Here are some scrapbooking pages that Wendy has been working on in recent days.
I have to first say that she will be by later to fill yo in on some of the details of these pages, I didn't tell her I was posting this today! I got a little busy yesterday.

Second both of these Layouts she was working on while we were on skype. So I thought that I woud see how much I know and give you a little info about them and she can correct me if I'm wrong.

And as a little side note - Wendy does ALL the editting on our blog! All of it! I type and she corrects. Because she didn't know I was posting something new today she hasn't had time to edit. So sorry guys!

So here I go ... this is Tina giving you your run down on Wendy's Pages :)

This is a Layout of Riely Field in Sacaremento. She went to a Baseball Game with her In-Laws.
She wasn't sure how her Daughter Macie was going to do but was glad that Macie ended up having a blast.
She got to use her Baseball Cartridge that I got her for the first time.  She did something a little different than she normally does by doing all the Cricut Cuts first and creating a "scene"
I think that she did an awesome job!

These are pictures of Macie at Fair!
She used the paper that I got her from the Animal Cracker Paper Pack, and she used Create A Critter Cartridge.

**** This is Wendy - I edited this post .. :)  Only a few typos!  And Tina got all the above info correct.  She pays closer attention than I thought ;0) Have a great day! *****
We hope everyone is having  great week,

Violet's 1st Year Album - Progress

Good Morning Everyone,
We hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend, can you believe that summer has been here this year and is now gone! Fall sure has set in.

Wendy had a race on Satruday and then spent some time with family on Sunday!

I had a very productive weekend! I shoot a few videos for a new series I'm going to be doing and I complete about 8 Layouts!
I'm moving right along inViolet's Album so I thought we could start the week off with that.

This week we will have some pages from Wendy that she has finished, a design by Laura and another Organization Thursday Video.

Lets get this week started!

I know share with everyone recently my attempt in redoing Violets album and I have to say that its going alot better than I once thought it would.
Here are some pictures of some pages that I've started redoing!
I'm now really enjoying her album and I've find as her 1st Birthday is aporching fast and we are starting to think back on that time, doing this album now is starting to give some closer on all that was lost, all that was gained, and all that was learned!!!!!!!!

Orginal I did a 2 page, 12x12 Layout of "Papa Mike & Mimi Carol"
I gave one side to Papa Mike and the other side to Mimi Carol  - and I called it good.

As I was thinking about redoing this album one of the things that had been on my mind was the fact that Violet spent the first month of her life with these wondeful people and I hadn't really done a very job of telling her the stories of that time of her life.

Even though I was not there EVERYONE knew that  would want ALOT of pictures and video's of my Children and they were awesome about gathering those moments for me that I missed.

So my goal as I began this "Redo" was to capture the best I could these people and those times in my daughters life for her to look back on in the years to come.

Here is the page now:

I'm so happy to say that Violet's Album is coming along nicely and I have really been inspired to keep working on it.

I can't wait to share more with you in the weeks to come!

What did everyone work on this weekend? Anyone else getting excited about Winter come and all the cozy scrapbooking days we will be able to have?

Enjoy your week everyone,
